DEWALT Impact Clutch™ Accessory Holder (DWHJHLD) The folks at DEWALT recently sent me their new Impact Clutch™ Accessory Holder (DWHJHLD) to try. Over the last year I’ve tested numerous impact drivers from all the major brands and they all have one problem. They consistently break bit tips and strip fasteners due to the high torque / impact delivered to the fasteners. So the idea of an impact clutch really got my attention! Five Times Bit Life According to DEWALT the new Impact Clutch will result in tips lasting five times longer. In addition it will result in fewer stripped fasteners resulting in improved productivity. “It is not uncommon to see metal framing crews or glaziers drive up to 400–500 screws a day on commercial jobsites,” said Stas’ Kotula, product manager, DEWALT. “In high torque situations, bits often break before they wear, which is a regular frustration experienced by many of our users. To solve this problem, we developed the industry’s first clutch accessory that has been engineered specifically to help reduce bit and fastener damage, increasing the life of the bit. This launch is another proof point of DEWALT’s commitment to its end users and of the time and expertise we put into the development of all of our products.” I’ve spent the last couple of weeks using this new Impact Clutch™ Accessory Holder and I REALLY like it! It has totally taken my impact drivers to a whole new level of performance that I’ve been missing out on. If you’re like me I use my impact driver for almost every task that requires driving screws, lags and heavy bolt/nut connections. However, until this product came along I was having a hard time with stripped screws and damaged bits. If you own an Impact Driver you REALLY should get yourself one of these. They are retailing for $17 to $20 and should be available at your local lumber yard or big box store. Below is a short video that DEWALT produced for us that I wanted to share. Jovana Bogdanovic , a young Serbian artist, designed an interesting collection of low chairs, easy to integrate in original modern interiors. According to the official designer’s description, “ the Low Chairs Family series plays out the positive contradictions inherent in cultural encounters often, albeit ingenuously, predicated on mutual stereotypes and misunderstandings. The series is itself a response to the misconception Jovana had about Asian seating privileging low and crouching postures, an expectation proven wrong by her actual experience in China. These deceptively ‘low-rise’ chairs and tables are made appealing and genteel in their solid largesse by a scheme of pastel colors and matching sets of soft cushions. How to Coordinate Colors for your Outdoor Home

If you are challenged in choosing exterior colors for your home, join everyone else who thinks the same as you do! Unlike your interiors that depend on your mood, furnishings, and adjacent finishes, your outdoor home has many factors to consider as well. Factors like adjacent neighboring homes, natural habitat and surroundings, can be a challenge when trying to coordinate colors and choosing trim, accent and main colors for your home. While paint manufacturer’s and home improvement web sites may be helpful, don’t overlook observing the existing environment for helping you coordinate exterior home colors. Draw inspiration from nature: Walk around your home and see what colors occur naturally around your home. A house located in the mountains with evergreen trees in the vicinity will be a different inspiration from a home that’s situated on the beach with sand and water as the backdrop. Coordinate colors of your home to mimic nature, or to compliment it. Homes in the mountains do well with rustic tones of browns, deep burgundy, and greens.
