Curtains or Doors for this Cabinet?

I managed to snag this cabinet from some tenants moving out of my old apartment building. The landlord had offered it to the tenants but they didn’t want it… not that I blame them. The cabinet was painted an unfortunate shade of orange – somewhere between tangerine and rust – and covered with a layer of greasy black filth. So far I have removed the filth, primed the cabinet, and painted it with two coats of clean, white, semi-gloss paint. I was worried about dishes and glasses sticking to the latex paint, so I applied a coat of clear polycrylic to the top of the shelves. I’m not sure how much it helped (if it helped at all) but the dishes don’t stick, so I guess I did something right. Anyway, progress on the cabinet has been at a standstill for about a year now. The drawer in the middle of the piece still needs to

be painted and new drawer pulls need to be installed. As for the base, I’m not quite sure what route to take. I have the original doors for the bottom of the cabinet and they’re already primed, but I’m not sure I want to use them. The doors fit snugly inside the cabinet frame before, and with two extra coats of paint on them I’m afraid they will stick like crazy. In place of doors, I’m considering cutting off the piece of wood in the middle of the shelves and installing a curtain to hide all the crap I’m likely to pile in the bottom portion of the cabinet. It would probably look fine, but I’m not sure that’s the style I want to go for. What do you think… stupid idea? Would you keep the doors, go with the curtain, or do something else?
