Maybe it’s just me in my rosy-colored world…but there’s a silver lining to any situation. Cook with too much wine , and what do you know, you’ve got enough corks for a great new craft project. We spotted this little gem on GreenUpgrader , and are SO excited to try it out. Here’s how it works. What You’ll Need: Your collection of corks Wood glue 1” or deeper box frame, with the glass removed The Steps #1— Lay out your corks to see how they’ll fit into the frame. If you start gluing before you do this, you’ll probably end up with a big mess that doesn’t work out geometrically, so plan ahead! Either remove them one-by-one and set them on the countertop in that exact order, or take a quick photo for easy reference later. #2— There’s another option, too. You can either place the corks on their sides or stand them on end. There are pros and cons to each. If you lie them down, they take much

more planning. By standing them on end, the layout is a snap, but it will take many more corks to fill the frame. #3— Using the wood glue fairly liberally, cover all sides of the cork that will be in direct contact with the frame, the backer and any other corks. Glue and place the corks one at a time back into the frame and let them dry overnight. If your box frame comes with hooks or other means to hang it up, it should be all set. If not, nail picture wire or glue some other means to the backside. Extra Goodies You can also enhance the cork board by steaming labels off of the wine bottles and gluing them to the edges of the box frame (probably best to do this before the corks go in), or screw a few hooks into the bottom row of corks for hanging keys.
