If you keep these simple tips in mind , you’ll find that a bright splash of color was just what the doctor ordered. Go Big or Go Home Choose bold colors, prints, and patterns that will actually expand each room. Just make sure to keep a little bit of space between contrasting choices; this will help add a touch of clarity. Also, don’t be afraid to have a focal wall or slip color in unexpected places (i.e. on a radiator). Color Repetition Make a space cohesive by repeating patterns or colors in different areas of the same room – or even different rooms of the apartment. This will bring the design together so that decorating choices seem well thought-out and intentional. Leave No Stone Unturned Don’t stray from livening up unconventional spaces, like your kitchen or bathroom. The stone walls and wooden elements of the house are impressive design elements, but what can really leave one speechless is the natural environment. The lush vegetation and numerous palm trees make this a dream place to live in. However the developers of this project added extra features in order to grow interest in this property. Two fantastic pool “guard” the place and a fancy lighting system provides a nice atmosphere for late night swimming. The interior is modern, with contemporary furniture items. The Italian kitchen is all-equipped and has stainless steel work surfaces. From architect Sergio Araneda , you are looking at “Casa Maiz”, a project located in a small forest in Los Pinos, Reñaca, V Región. Two things defined the design strategy of this place. On the one hand the owners and developers wanted a house that could receive a person or two, without the closure of other units, and secondly a house that had the capacity to receive the numerous family of the owners. The result was a “compact volume that generates concentric forces, and from that inner core faces freely and smoothly with the exterior and main sights”. This home may be very practical, but we rarely enjoy seeing compact houses, as they lack the warmth a and spacious feel a wider home has to offer. What do you think of this place?

A perfect project for spring, building a planter box for your patio is simple and easy. Customize it to the shape and size you need and compliment your backyard landscape. Wooden Planter Boxes For a rustic or sleek look, use wood to build a planter. It’s possible to make almost any shape, but boxes in a square or rectangle are the easiest. Work with deck boards or 2×6 lumber – the entire box shape including base and side can be assembled with these dimensions. A rim or lip can be built with planed 2×6 or you can switch up to 2×4 or 1×6. Once you’ve built the box shape, remember to account for drainage and also soil retention. Line the box with heavy duty plastic or landscape fabric stapled into the inside. Poke or punch holes through the liner.
