After reading Mike’s entry on disposing hazardous chemicals in Chicago, I wondered if there was a similar disposal facility located near me. During my search I came across the website Earth911.com . The site has a great search feature. Enter the type of material you wish to recycle/dispose of and your zip code, submit, and your rewarded with a list of the nearest disposal facilities. For each location (in addition to the usual

address, phone number, and website link) the site provides a list of materials accepted, special notes regarding individual materials, and whether the site accepts materials from homeowners, businesses, or both. No longer will you be able to justify pouring bad things down the drain because you didn’t know how to properly dispose of them. Definitely give this site a try.
