Adding bold color to a closet-sized apartment can seem like a nightmarish idea.  But the truth is that using a color palette of white, white, white does nothing more than make everything seem too constricted, depressing, and, well, boring. If you keep these simple tips in mind , you’ll find that a bright splash of color was just what the doctor ordered. Go Big or Go Home Choose bold colors, prints, and patterns that will actually expand each room.  Just make sure to keep a little bit of space between contrasting choices; this will help add a touch of clarity.  Also, don’t be afraid to have a focal wall or slip color in unexpected places (i.e. on a radiator). Color Repetition Make a space cohesive by repeating patterns or colors in different areas of the same room – or even different rooms of the apartment.  This

will bring the design together so that decorating choices seem well thought-out and intentional. Leave No Stone Unturned Don’t stray from livening up unconventional spaces, like your kitchen or bathroom.  While the bathroom may be the smallest room in an already-small apartment, painting it a rich chocolate or mocha could succeed in bringing interest and comfort to the space. Experiment and Have Fun The best interior designs aren’t planned with a ruler and textbook. They’re dreamt up from the whimsy and creative flair of those that aren’t afraid to experiment. What’s the worst that could happen? You re-paint a wall and get to have even more fun playing designer of your own space.
