Nightwood Furniture seems aptly named for its “scrap wood collected in the dark” kind of feel.  However, despite the line’s tattered and torn appearance, it has a special charm that crisp and clean designer duds lack.  Just think of it as the Charlie Brown of furniture design. These totem end tables are constructed from poplar and maple but seem to conjure up images of a geometric puzzle, or the end product of a trash compactor.  This is extra cool given the company’s dedication to sustainable re-use and upcycling . Adding a bit of color into the mix, this credenza is made from a long list of materials: oak, ash, walnut, mahogany, pine, spruce, birch and maple. With fabric hanging down in the back and staples

showing in the front, these Chairs, named “Einstein and Picasso Chair Pair,” seem to be in the midst of receiving new upholstery.  But they still manage to look comfy and welcoming. Unfortunately, this couch may be the only one to complement the totem end tables, but as a pair they create a unique design statement.  Simple, yet spastic. This dresser, with its combination of walnut, poplar, pine, mahogany, maple, ash and cherry, has a certain sleek togetherness that the other pieces in the collection lack.  It even looks polished enough to complement already existing design schemes. Undeniably one-of-a-kind, Nightwood’s furniture is worthy of some praise. Please bookmark and share
