The Luxury & Fresh Design of HGTV’s Dream Kitchen 2010

The HGTV Dream Home 2010 in New Mexico is a vision of luxury, charm and beauty. It’s hard to choose just one area of the house to focus on, but I’m in love with this decked-out kitchen . Hosting all possible amenities one could envision – and decorated to the hilt – it’s ready for anything a home cook could ever dream of whipping up. While a ribbon of gorgeous handmade mosaic tile can make a beautiful statement, how about two stories of it? Extending to the ceiling, the opalescent glass tiling picks up on the turquoise theme uniting each room in the house. Also unifying the kitchen, each piece is set inside aluminum, complementing the stainless steel appliances. Detail of the gorgeous mosaic tile work . This huge black maple/Silestone island is almost 12 feet long, seats five, and offers deep end-cabinets for storage. At that size, it can go from amply handling prep work to a hang-out spot for friends while the soup’s on to a full-on dinner party. But what good is high style without functionality? Check out the Sub

Zero and Wolf appliances in here. Besides the oven, there’s a drawer microwave and warming oven. Not enough? How about a steamer and side-by-side refrigerators with freezer drawers, finished off with a wine fridge? Also add induction and gas cooktops and a stainless steel commercial hood, then take a quick hop around the corner to the butler’s pantry and recycling room. Sometimes what you can’t see makes a room beautiful, and that’s the case with the refrigerators. Not that they aren’t amazing themselves, but the designers felt that enough stainless steel was visible via the other appliances. Cherry-finish Wellborn cabinetry adds the look of furniture to the kitchen to keep it from seeming industrial. A massive room like this one, with large windows and a towering ceiling, could easily feel cold, especially with all the heavy-duty equipment. But along with concealing some of the hardware, the kitchen is warmed up with the contemporary furnishing of these cozy upholstered stools in fresh white. Please bookmark and share
