Last evening, I stumbled across an article on GardensandCrafts.com detailing the process for building terracotta pot towers… and fell in love with the idea! It all sounds so brilliantly simple too. First, drive a 1/2 inch diameter rebar rod two feet into the ground. Then, thread terracotta pots through their drainage holes (each resting atop the previous pot as pictured). All that’s left is to fill each container to the brim with lovely, colorful annuals… preferably some that cascade nicely I love, love,

love this idea! The only change I will make is to fill the first pot (the one resting on the ground) with stones. I fear that the upper pots will sink into the soil base recommended by the original how-to . Otherwise, I will be constructing a beautiful tower of my own by the book! Just added to my (ever growing) to-do list: assemble two tipsy terracotta towers for next year’s garden…
