Ways to Organize a Mudroom

A mudroom or laundry room where kids leave their dirty shoes, book bags, gym bags, etc. can get out of hand fast. Instead of letting all of the junk pile up in corners and all over the floor, you can install some basic items to organize it all. First, provide each person with their own storage area. This could be a closet that is already there, or you can install a few shelves. If you don’t want to deal with nails and hammers, use large baskets. Adding hooks onto the wall

near the door makes a convenient spot to hang jackets, scarves, hats and bags. Instead of throwing these items on the floor, they can be neatly hung. There are so many decorative hooks that can actually accent the room. A padded bench is an excellent way to store those seasonal items such as ice skates, soccer balls, tennis racquets, etc. Plus, it’s a comfortable area to put on your coat, gloves, hat and shoes during the cold winter months.
